An Overview of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, is a medical education faculty that upholds the Tridharma of Higher Education for the advancement of science, technology, and health. In general, it aims to strengthen national health development in pursuit of progress, justice, prosperity, and the welfare of the Indonesian people based on Pancasila.

As of May 2021, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, has produced 2,473 graduates. FK Unjani alumni are committed to dedicating themselves to the progress and health of the nation. Driven by this noble aspiration and by the grace of God Almighty, they pledged to form an association named the “ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE, UNIVERSITAS JENDERAL ACHMAD YANI”. The association was founded on 19 July 2008 and is based in Cimahi City. The association is based on Pancasila and has a family spirit. It has:

the Vision “Building Fellowship, Improving Ourselves, and Making a Real Contribution to Our Alma Mater”, and

the Mission of IKA FK Unjani:

1. To improve the competence, professionalism, responsibility, and commitment of all alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Unjani.
2. To encourage, create, develop, and continuously maintain fellowship among the alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Unjani.
3. To encourage human resources among the alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Unjani, to have the awareness and responsibility to plan, develop, and apply knowledge.
4. To foster relationships and serve as an equal partner of the Faculty of Medicine, Unjani, in improving the professionalism and competence of alumni.

Through IKA FK Unjani, alumni can also maintain fellowship and take part in alumni activities, community service, and career opportunities.

The IKA FK Unjani board is formed through the General Assembly, an association meeting held every two years, which holds the highest decision-making authority in the association through a representative system. At the General Assembly, the previous board delivers its accountability report and a new board is elected. To maintain fellowship and support career development, IKA FK Unjani has built social networks through WhatsApp groups (groups for each alumni cohort coordinator and the IKA FK Unjani group), Instagram, and Facebook. IKA FK Unjani has carried out many activities, both independently and in collaboration with FK Unjani and other institutions, including alumni coordination meetings, the IKA FK Unjani General Assembly, the FK Unjani Alumni Reunion held every two years, community service (the Community Service Festival in 25 cities across Indonesia), and career development.

Some of the efforts that IKA FK Unjani has made and continues to make are:

1. Organizing activities that foster love for the alma mater and a sense of togetherness among alumni and students.
2. Bringing honor to the alma mater and the Alumni Association at national and international levels.
3. Conducting activities to improve the professional competence of alumni in line with physician competencies.
4. Undertaking other efforts, provided they do not conflict with the principles, nature, and objectives of the Association.
