Jenderal Achmad Yani Scientific Competition (JAYSCO) is an activity of one of the divisions of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, namely the Research Learning Unit (RLU). The event has been held every year since 2019. The theme of JAYSCO 2022 was “Gastroenterology & Hepatology: In a fit body there is a healthy digestion, happy tummy happy time”, at an international scale, with participants from health faculties of universities across Indonesia. The series of activities included a public poster competition, a literature review competition, an educational video competition, and an international seminar. The event is an effort to develop students' ideas and creativity in different forms, and to realize FK Unjani's vision of becoming an internationally recognized medical faculty with national spirit and environmental awareness in the field of emergency medicine by 2035.
This year's JAYSCO was held via Zoom over two days. Sunday, 15 January 2023 was the main event, featuring an international seminar with six speakers and the announcement of winners in three competition categories, after the finalists had been selected via Zoom on Saturday, 14 January 2023.
The International Seminar, the highlight of this year's JAYSCO, carried the theme “GALLERY: Gastroenterology & Hepatology: In a fit body there is a healthy digestion, happy tummy happy time”. Unlike previous years, JAYSCO invited two speakers from Malaysia as a result of the cooperation between FK Unjani and Malaysia.
